BW Gold Ltd. (BW Gold) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc (Artemis). Artemis is listed on the TSX Venture exchange, is a well-financed, growth-oriented gold development company with strong financial capacity aimed at creating shareholder value through the identification, acquisition, and development of gold properties in mining friendly jurisdictions. Artemis, by way of BW Gold, is the proponent of the Blackwater Gold Project in central British Columbia, approximately 160 km southwest of Prince George and 446 km northeast of Vancouver.

Blackwater is an advanced-stage mine development project which received its environmental assessment approvals in 2019 and is proceeding towards permitting, with the goal of commencing construction in 2022. The Company published a feasibility study in September 2021 which reflects proven and probable reserves of 8Moz of gold at 0.78g/t, a low strip ratio of 2:1 and a net present value of C$2.15B at a long-term gold price of US$1,600.
Our newly opened Prince George regional office has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our financial team. The successful candidate will report to the Mine Controller and will be a career-focused individual that is excited to join and contribute to a new mining group in BC.
Effective time-management is needed to be successful in this position. The position requires a well-organized individual who can work independently with minimal supervision. Discretion is essential due to the confidential nature of the information involved.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement monthly and quarterly work plans
- Prepare financial information, perform project costs analysis, cash flow analysis & forecasting
- Meet monthly and quarterly reporting deadlines
- Assist with preparation and review of year-end and quarterly financial statements
- Prepare capital cost management information reporting packages
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Coordinate and account for capital projects lifecycles from assets under construction to fixed assets with operations management
- Assist operations with capital budgeting and forecasting
Requirements:
- A degree in a related field and at least 2 years of financial and accounting experience
- Experience working with compilation, preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of financial information
- Experience with sub-ledger maintenance and reconciliations
- Proficient in MS Office 365 [Intermediate MS Excel or above]
- Solid organizational, interpersonal, analytical and technical skills are essential to this role
- Ability to liaise with staff from other disciplines is required
- Excellent time management skills
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Enrolled and working towards a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation considered an asset
- Experience of medium to large ERP system(s) an advantage
- Previous experience with capital asset accounting, large operating and capital budgets will be considered assets
- Prior experience in mining industry considered an asset
