Primary Care or Advanced Care Paramedic - July 26, 2022

Position type: Permanent Full Time

Shift/Rotation: Two Weeks on Two Weeks off

Positions available: 2

Our current focus is the recently acquired Blackwater Gold Project in central British Columbia approximately 160km southwest of Prince George and 450km northeast of Vancouver.

Blackwater is an advanced-stage development project which received its environmental assessment approvals in 2019 and is proceeding towards permitting, with the goal of commencing construction in 2022.  The Company published a Feasibility Study in September 2021 which reflects a 22-year mine life, a low strip ratio of 2:1 and a net present value of C$2.15B at a long-term consensus gold price of US$1,600/oz.

Summary

Reporting to the Health and Safety Coordinator – Emergency Preparedness, the Advanced Care Paramedic is responsible for providing on site medical care to all personnel on the Blackwater Project site.

Primary areas of accountability include:

  • Experience working with First Nations strongly preferred
  • Providing the appropriate level of First Aid care to workers when injured or ill
  • Making transport decision of injured worker to health care facility
  • Familiarizing oneself with WCB documentation, OH&S regulations and all pertinent first aid reports
  • Complete on-site health and safety audit and document as required
  • Maintaining proper head count of personnel on site
  • Being an active participant in all safety meetings
  • Operating company vehicles and using company equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Maintain ambulance and emergency care equipment and supplies
  • Document and record nature of injuries and treatment provided
  • Assess extent of injuries or illness of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment
  • Willingness to train and join Mine Rescue team would be considered an asset
  • Assist with return-to-work programs and injury management
  • Administer Drug & Alcohol tests onsite as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education

  • Hold a valid EMALB PCP or ACP license in British Columbia
  • Current ACLS certificate preferred
  • Paramedic In Industry certificate preferred
  • Industrial experience will be considered an asset but not essential
  • Training and/or experience in providing culturally sensitive care an asset
  • Working knowledge of the following programs: Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License & Current (within 30 days) Drivers Abstract
