Raising Awareness on Red Dress Day

May 5 is Red Dress Day, also known as the National Day of Awareness & Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2 Spirit Individuals (MMIWG2S+). On this day, we aim to raise awareness about the ongoing systemic violence against Indigenous women, girls and gender diverse people.
The Artemis Blackwater Project is located in proximity to the Highway of Tears. Along this highway, and in the region, a number of Indigenous and non-Indigenous women have been murdered or gone missing.
We wear red dress pins to honour and remember them. Our thoughts are with the families and communities who hold memories of those lost.
